In all this sound and fury

For the past two weeks, my mind was all about "booking-out,booking out", man, ive never looked forward to going home more.

My captain sent me to go for driving course. It's a M113 driving course. To get a civilian vehicle license it would probably take a few months but this takes me only 8 days. Easy? yeah right. The training schedule was enough to get me screaming.

Some info on the M113. It's not a tank, it's an armoured vehicle. Ok, for non-army personnel (senior citizens, girls), you can think of it as a tank. A search on the google image box and u can see the difference between a tank and an armoured vehicle. Ok, er, it's slow (we usually drive at around 20-25 miles an hour), controlled using a pair of joysticks and not steering wheel (so I don't get any practice before I take my civilian driving license), and it's an oven inside.

The first two days were theory lessons. Memorising's what Im good at, so yeah, the TSR test was a piece of cake. Even the driving on the remaining days is manageable. Everyone's nervous at the start. You don't know what you are supposed to do, you'll forget the basics (put on seat belt, clip on ur CVC), and you'll panic. But after a while, hey, it's pretty easy.

Then comes the maintenance part. It's through these few days I realise we've been doing it all wrong in camp. I don't remember putting on the track fixture before we break the track. hah. short-cuts huh.

There were instructors who are super duper nice but there are ones who are super strict and scream at all ur mistakes. Come on, we are new at this. I realli felt like speeding down the gully to send them flying away out of the VC hatch.

Gedong is crap compared to keat hong. Keat hong is a new camp, but Gedong is hell old. The toilet has 5 cubicles for all 27 of us. For Keat Hong this fraction is usually the inverse. All the muachees and rojak is worth this inconvenience? Nah, not worth it.

I mean, ok, maybe Im just not used to the camp and everything. Maybe Keat Hong is just too great. I don't know haha. But when I went in I experience that feeling I get whenever I go camping back in school. Detachment la. And im telling you i hate that.

And the wait for your turn to drive is hell long. 3 vehicles for all 27 people. They should indent more.

I remember getting pissed off when my camp guys went nights out and Im outfield driving using the NVD.

But im really happy it's all over and I got my license haha. Whoohoo. My first license. Im pretty proud of myself. Haha. But if u ask me whether i wanna do it all over again nope. no way.
